I applied for a loan about a month ago and got refused. Checked with equifax and it?

was because I have moved to a new house which did not show up on their system. This has now been rectified. How long should I leave it before I apply again as I don't want to keep getting refused.

Make sure that you're registered on the Electoral Roll at your new house, ring the council and ask if you are. If you have registered but are not showing, ask them when the new version is released. Most councils release the updated version of the register in December.

Being on the Electoral Roll makes a big difference to your credit score.

I've never hear of someone being denied for a loan b/c their address doesn't match what's on file. Is that what the salesperson told you? Legally, when you are denied credit, you are entitled to a free report from whichever bureau(s) the lender pulled the report from. (within 60 days of the denial). You are also entitled to a valid reason.

On to your second question...every time you apply for credit, it shows up as an inquiry. Inquiries will stay on your report for two years and will effect your score. If you are shopping around for a loan, shop at every place you think you may want to apply within 14 days. This will appear as one inquiry on your report and not 7 or 8. You can apply now if you'd like. Equifax should have sent you a copy of your corrected report. That should be sufficient proof that the problem (strange as it is) has been solved. Hope that helps!

As soon as your new house has a post code you should be okay.

Moving should not have affected the lender's decision. The lender is required by law to send you a letter stating the reason for the denial. Wait until you receive this to see why you were actually denied.
