Where should I get a loan?

I am trying to apply for a loan with a family member. I have crappy credit, he has beyond perfect credit. Banks don't seem to be working. Any other suggestions?

Where should I get a loan?

Credit unions are the way to go. I work for one, the standards are usually more lax and forgiving. If you have a cosigner that has a perfect score, often they will go off of the better score for the approval. The three things looked at (generally) are: credit, debt-to-income ratio, and spendable income. If the cosigner has great credit and poor income, it could pose a problem. Overall, though, I'd say you have the best shot with a CU.
